Jewelry Care
Your piece is made of 925 sterling silver. Adherence to these guidelines is required to maintain both the metal's condition and the integrity of the sandblasted matte finish.
Tarnish Prevention: Chemicals and Moisture
Tarnish is accelerated by chemicals and moisture.
It's recommended to complete your entire routine—including all perfumes, hair sprays, colognes, lotions, and makeup application—before you put on your jewelry.
Wait until all products have fully dried and settled on your skin before adding your jewelry.
Remove jewelry before showering, swimming (especially chlorine), or using hot tubs.
Protecting the Sandblasted Finish: Abrasion Risk
The sandblasted texture is specifically vulnerable to abrasion. This finish can be prematurely polished smooth by friction.
Do not rub, scrub, or brush the piece. Avoid contact with rough fabrics.
Store each piece individually to prevent the sandblasted surface from being scratched or polished by harder, shinier jewelry.
Cleaning and Polishing
If the piece appears dull from skin contact, use warm water and a small amount of mild, detergent-free dish soap.
Gently rub the piece using only a soft cotton swab or your fingertips. The goal is to lift oils, not scrub the surface.
Rinse completely and pat the piece fully dry with a soft, lint-free cloth. Do not air dry.
Never use polishing cloths or abrasive materials on your sandblasted piece. These will permanently destroy the unique matte texture of your sandblasted finish.
Refinishing
For pieces with heavy tarnish, professional restoration is recommended. Every Shapeshifter piece is covered by a Lifetime Warranty, and you’re always welcome to have your jewelry refinished to restore its original luster.
